From May-Nov, increased rainfall in the mountains makes for a rafting trip and this is the only time of year you can sea kayak to Tortuguero National Park to see nesting sea turtles. Hike around Arenal Volcano, and cycle the fringes of Lake Arenal. You can hike Monteverde Cloud Forest and visit a coffee plantation before going down to the Pacific coast to snorkel and sea kayak to Tortuga Island.
